Topo maps - Finland is now Lokimaps
Same official topographic maps, a brand-new name — and the whole Nordics in one app.
New
- One app for the Nordics — Finland, Sweden and Norway’s official topographic maps now live together in Lokimaps.
- Lokimaps PRO — one subscription, with a free trial, unlocks premium maps, offline downloads, custom layers and location sharing. Viewing maps, GPS, tracks, waypoints and search stay free.
- A quick first-launch setup: allow location, choose your included base map, and see what PRO adds.
Improved
- Offline map downloads are now part of PRO — areas you already saved keep working.
- Nothing to migrate: your saved tracks, waypoints and settings stay exactly where you left them.
Go Nordic, and make the map your own
Sweden and Norway join the map, alongside custom layers and a stack of new tools.
New
- Sweden and Norway topographic maps, a Norwegian nautical chart, and Finnish aerial (orthophoto) imagery.
- Multi-map collections — combine several maps and reorder them to your liking.
- Custom map layers — add your own WMS, WMTS or WFS sources, with an AI assistant that finds and sets up compatible layers for you.
- Finnish property borders you can tap for details, plus search by property ID (kiinteistötunnus).
- Oma riista hunting-area boundaries, stored offline.
- Track recording on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
- New coordinate formats: UTM, MGRS, SWEREF 99 TM and ETRS-GK.
- A setting for your preferred GPS accuracy.
Improved
- Sort bookmarks and move them between folders.
- Recorded tracks stay continuous, with proper handling of pauses.
- Map download controls moved into their own settings screen.
Fixed
- Custom layer selection and rendering, with tile requests limited to each layer’s coverage.
- Map switching during a purchase refresh, and cached-map updates.
Location sharing and historic maps
Stay visible to the people you’re with, and explore over a century of old maps.
New
- Location sharing — share your live location in a group, invite people with a link, and see members on the map with their speed and heading. Optionally share automatically while recording a track.
- Historic Finnish maps (1863–2020) as a real overlay, with a year picker, scale selector and adjustable opacity.
- A welcome screen the first time you open the app.
Improved
- Save a search result straight to a waypoint from its callout.
Fixed
- Location sharing clean-up, stale updates, and invite-link handoff.
Rebuilt for iOS 26
A top-to-bottom modernization — cleaner, faster and ready for the latest iPhone and iPad.
New
- Send feedback from inside the app.
- Redesigned search with autocomplete and recent searches.
- GPX import and export that keeps your folder structure, with a preview before importing.
Improved
- Refreshed interface throughout, with crisp new icons.
- Distances everywhere follow your unit preference, and the ruler now shows distance numbers.
- More accurate elevation readings.
- Confirmation prompts before clearing the trail line or deleting tracks and waypoints.
Fixed
- Track display restored when returning to the app, plus live track and tail styling.
- More reliable map purchases and restores.
