Pointer lets you inspect a point on the map and use it as a destination or bookmark. Pointer is available without PRO.

Place a pointerPlace a pointer

  1. Move the map until the point is under the centre crosshair . The crosshair follows the centre of the visible map area when a panel covers part of the map.
  2. Tap the centre crosshair . A pointer and its callout appear at that point.
  3. Select Details in the callout to see the point and its available actions.

There is no separate Pointer button on the toolbar. While a tool such as Route Planner is active, tapping the crosshair can perform that tool's action instead. Close the tool before placing a pointer.

Use the point detailsUse the point details

  • Select the coordinate row to copy the coordinate. Change its format under Settings , Units, Coordinate system.
  • See the straight-line distance and bearing from your current position when your location is available. Choose distance and angle units under Settings , Units.
  • See an estimated elevation and address when available. These lookups need a network connection. Select Copy address when an address is found.
  • Select Navigate here to preview navigation. Direct navigation is available without PRO; walking, cycling, and car route calculation requires PRO and an internet connection. See Navigation.
  • Select Save as bookmark to name the point and choose a folder. See Bookmarks.

The details may appear as a popover or a sheet depending on the available space. They remain open when the layout changes.
