The Measure Tool shows the straight-line distance and direction between two points. It is available directly on the map, so you do not need to enter a separate measuring mode.

Create a measurementCreate a measurement

  1. Place two fingers on the map at the start and end points.
  2. Keep both fingers still and separated, then touch and hold briefly.
  3. Release when the measurement line appears.

If the map zooms instead, try again while keeping the distance between your fingers steady during the hold.

Adjust the lineAdjust the line

  1. Touch and hold either endpoint ring briefly, then drag it to place the endpoint more precisely.
  2. Touch and hold the line briefly, then drag it to move both endpoints together.
  3. Tap the measurement label to switch between the full distance-and-direction view and a compact distance label.
  4. Use Swap to reverse the measurement direction.
  5. Use Close to remove the measurement.

When an endpoint is dragged onto your current-location marker, it can snap to that position and follow you as your location changes. Moving the endpoint away releases it.

Measurements are saved on the device and return after Lokimaps is reopened. They remain on the map until you remove them. You can create more than one measurement and bring a background measurement forward by selecting it.

Change unitsChange units

  1. Open Settings .
  2. Find the Units section.
  3. Choose a distance unit under Distance.
  4. Choose Degrees, NATO mils (6400), or Finnish piiru (6000) under Angle.

The selected angle unit is also used for the direction shown by Pointer. For a route made from several points, use Route Planner.
