Lokimaps can add hunting-area boundaries from Oma riista as native overlay layers. Adding, refreshing, and displaying these areas requires Lokimaps PRO.
Before you startBefore you start
You need:
- An active PRO subscription
- The area identifier from your account at oma.riista.fi
- A network connection while adding or refreshing the area
When an area is added or refreshed, a unique app identifier and your IP address are sent to Oma riista. The app explains this processing and links to the relevant privacy notice before you add the area. The downloaded boundary and metadata are stored on your device for offline use.
Add an areaAdd an area
- Open Maps from the map controls.
- Scroll to Layers and select Add layer .
- Select Add Oma riista area .
- Enter the Area identifier from Oma riista.
- Select Add area.
Lokimaps downloads the geometry and available metadata, adds the area to your Layers collection, and enables it on the map. The same area cannot be added twice.

The boundary is drawn in green above the selected base map. Tap inside the boundary to show the area name, tap the name again to show its callout, then select the callout's Info button to open the area details.
While at least one Oma riista area is visible and Lokimaps has a location, a status control appears in the upper-left corner. It shows whether you are inside a visible area and the distance to the relevant or nearest boundary. Select the status control to open that area's details.
The details can include:
- Area name and identifier
- Hunting club and hunting year
- Total and water area
- The date saved in Oma riista and the date downloaded to the device
- Whether your recent position is inside or outside, plus distance to the boundary
Location status depends on the device's latest position and the downloaded boundary. It is a convenience, not proof of legal access or permission to hunt.
Change how areas are shownChange how areas are shown
Open an area's details from its Actions menu, boundary, or status control.
- Use Show on map to enable or disable that individual area.
- Dim the map outside the areas applies to all saved Oma riista areas. When enabled, the map outside all visible areas is darkened. When disabled, the area interiors use a light striped fill instead.
If several areas are visible, the outside dimming mask treats their combined interiors as the undimmed area.
Refresh or remove an areaRefresh or remove an area
Select Refresh details in the area's details when Oma riista geometry or metadata may have changed. Refreshing needs a network connection and replaces the locally stored copy.
Select Delete area to remove the area, its downloaded geometry, and its metadata from this device. Hiding an area with Show on map does not delete it.
